If for some reason you might ever want to keep a digital copy of all those old PS1 games, then there is an easy way to do it.
1)Download ImgBurn, the CD ripping/burning software, from here
2)Install ImgBurn and open the programme
2)Insert PlayStation game into CD drive and click 'Create image file from disc'
3)In the dropdown menu 'Source' find the CD drive which contains the PS1 game
4)In 'Destination' choose the required destination of PS1 game file
5)Click on the picture that has a CD being converted into a file with a CD picture on it. When you hover over it, it should say 'Read'
6)???
7)Profit. You should now have two files stored in the chosen destination folder. 'X'.bin and 'X'.cue
8)These two files can be used to play the game on a home-brew emulator for the PC or Wii, provided you own the original game - however what you do with the file has nothing to do with me. I am only showing you how to create a backup copy in case you lose the game.
Gotta do this atleast on my tekken3, orginal disc got so many scratches already :/
ReplyDeleteAwesome post! I have a lot of old ps1 games that are hard to find. I'll need to make a backup in case the original is scratched. My copy oLegend of Legia is getting slightly worn.
